Davey’s in Bordeaux, France

Shining the light of the Gospel in the city of Bordeaux.

The road to Bordeaux began when Pat and Alan went on honeymoon to Fuengirola in Southern Spain. It was there that the spiritual needs of continental Europe stopped being simply a known fact and became a personal challenge. After that the road was long and winding, but they finally moved to Bordeaux in August 2005, sure of God’s guiding hand. Here they are helping with a church plant in Bordeaux and also with student evangelism and ministry with the goal of seeing a strong Bible church established and strong Bible Christians going all over the world with the gospel.

Bordeaux is France’s sixth largest city with a population approaching 1 million. It is about the size of Glasgow. The historic protestant church has lost its gospel light while evangelical churches are small, few and often doctrinally eccentric.

Bordeaux needs a city centre, Bible preaching church. Bordeaux welcomes about 100,000 students from all over France and the rest of the world. Many come from places like China or from North Africa and have never seen a Bible or heard its message. FAC (Faith and Action for Christ) exists to reach as many students as possible with the gospel by campus outreach, by Bible studies and by encouraging Christian students to reach their friends.
